Beavers Fall to Cardinals

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Anthony Lewis scored 14 of his 22 points in the first half and finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds – seven offensive – and Zachary Heiss came off the bench and hit four jumpers from beyond the arc to finish with 14 points but the City College of New York (4-10, 0-6 CUNYAC) fell to York College (7-6, 3-2 CUNYAC), 78-69, on Tuesday evening at Nat Holman Gymnasium.

Lewis added three steals and one block and Paul Dail finished with a season-high 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, including two three-point field goals and nine assists.

City College dished out 18 assists in the contest as Dail continued to play unselfish basketball.

Brandon Reeves added 14 points in 25 minutes of action and Lennox Norville posted two blocked shots.

The Beavers attempted a season-high 25 shots from three-point range, but hit just seven. CCNY trailed by 15 but a late surge cut the Cardinals' lead to four, 34-30, heading into halftime.

The Beavers head to the Bronx to face Lehman College on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 3 p.m.
