Boston, Mass. - First-year forward Shay Ajayi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) totaled a game-high 15 points with seven rebounds to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 66-42 win over the NAIA Fisher College Falcons in men's basketball action this evening. Trinity improves to 7-8.
Trinity built a 17-6 lead on a jumper by sophomore forward Alex Conaway (New Haven, Conn.), but Fisher closed to 26-22 at the break. The Bantams pushed their lead back to double digits quickly with an 6-0 run that included two buckets by sophomore forward Jamil Ebo (Bloomfield, Conn.). Trinity maintained at least a nine-point advantage the rest of the way and put the game out of reach over the final 10 minutes.
Trinity freshman guard Jaquann Starks (Hartford, Conn.) added 13 points and four assists, while Ebo finished with 12 points, a team-high eight rebounds, and five steals. Fisher, which shot just 26.4% from the field (14-53) and made two three-pointers in 14 attempts, was led in scoring by Tyler Shular with nine points.
