HUNTINGDON, Pa. – In a rematch of last year's Landmark Conference Championship, the Juniata men's basketball team could not stop a surge from the University of Scranton Saturday afternoon and fell 62-54 in the Kennedy Sports+Recreation Center.  Juniata (8-5, 0-2 Landmark) scored 13 points off 12 Scranton turnovers and outrebounded the Royals.  But Scranton (10-3, 1-1 Landmark) saw more production from its bench who put up 21 points.

Junior Brian Scholly (State College, State College) had a game-high 16 points with six rebounds.  Also finishing in double-digits was fellow junior Kevin Stapleton (Indiana, Pa./Indiana).  He earned 12 points after going a perfect 2-for-2 from behind the arch and 6-for-9 from the free throw line.

The Eagles stay home for their next game.  They take on Catholic University this Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m.  Despite the programs' first game being held in 1926, this will only be the 13th meeting between the two programs.  Juniata leads the all-time series 7-5 against the Cardinals and is 5-5 under Head Coach Greg Curley.  The Eagles won their last meeting with Catholic 76-68 back on Feb. 10, 2012.
