The Pitt-Bradford men's basketball team was outscored 16-8 over the final 3:28 against Brockport Saturday to fall 78-70 in the Brockport Holiday Invitational.

The first half featured 13 ties and lead changes as the opening 10 minutes were a nip and tuck affair. Trailing by two, Pitt-Bradford went on a 16-3 run midway through the period to take its largest lead of the game at 33-22. The run was ignited by four straight points from Tyler Ferguson and PJ Blanch capped it with three free throws after being fouled while attempting a three-point shot.

The Golden Eagles responded by scoring the last 10 points of the half to cut the deficit to 38-37 at the break.

The Panthers led throughout the entire second half until the 5:37 mark. Jordan Major connected on a three-pointer after a Blanch layup to give Brockport a 57-56 lead.

Keith Burgess tied the game at 62 with 3:28 left, but the Golden Eagles scored on consecutive possessions to go ahead for good. After Burgess trimmed the lead to two at 66-64, Matt Lee hit a triple with 1:52 left and two John Ivy free throws moments later stretched the Golden Eagle advantage to seven.

Brockport iced the game at the free throw line, going 6-7 from the stripe over the final minute.

Despite shooting 47 percent from the floor and outrebounding the Golden Eagles by 14, the Panthers were unable to overcome a season-high 22 turnovers. Brockport scored 21 points off turnovers and committed just eight of its own. The Golden Eagles hit nine three-pointers and connected on two more free throws than Pitt-Bradford attempted.

Jesse DeLoof led the Panthers with a career-high 18 points, and Blanch, making his second start of the season, totaled a season-best 16 points, including going 9-9 from the free throw line, and recorded six assists. Burgess chipped in with 14 points and Ferguson had 10.

Pitt-Bradford, which has lost two straight, falls to 5-4 on the season and plays Canton Sunday in the consolation game.
