Baruch Falls to SUNY-Purchase (73-61)

The Baruch College Bearcats suffered a 73-61 non-conference road defeat to the State University of New York at Purchase Panthers on Saturday afternoon in Purchase, New York.

The visiting Bearcats (6-3) struggled shooting 31 percent (18-58), but despite the slump, they did manage to take a one point lead (46-45) on a free throw by
Joshua Vitalwith 9:19 left.

Purchase (6-1) responded by scoring the next 12 points to turn a close game in their favor with a 57-46 lead with 6:42 left. The Bearcats were unable to recover to suffer the loss against one of the top teams in the Skyline Conference.


Edward Roscignoled the way with 14 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Raymond De La Cruzscored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Justin Person led the Panthers with 17 points, seven rebounds and four steals.

The men's basketball team will now go on break for finals exams/holidays.

They are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, December 29, at the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Tournament in Rochester, New York. They will play the tournament host St. John Fisher College with tip-off scheduled for 8:00 pm.
