BUFFALO, NY - The Medaille men's basketball team put together a tremendous all-around performance as they ran past AMCC rival La Roche College (82-62) this afternoon in the Sullivan Center.

The Mavs were dominant in all facets of the game as they continued their tremendous shooting.  The Mavs trailed just once in the game at (5-4) with (17:14) on the clock.  The Mavs then went on a (14-0) run to seize control of the game at (18-5) midway through the opening half.  The Mavs lead would swell to (20) points in the waning moments of the first and they carried a (41-23) lead into the intermission.

The second half would see La Roche go on a mini-run early but the Mavs weathered the storm and stepped on the accelerator surging towards a lead that grew to (30) points at (73-43) with (5:34) remaining in the game.

The Mavs once again shot well, which has become a common theme this season as they knocked down (54.9%) of their shots from the floor.  They continued to knock their three-point shots with tremendous accuracy as they connected on (7 of 12) from beyond the arc, finishing at (58.3%).  They also finished the game (19 of 24) from the charity stripe, which was good for (79.2%).

The Mavs big early game run was sparked by junior Robby Seyler who came off the bench to pour in a game high (16) points, including seven straight that turned the Redhawks only lead of the game into a double digit Maverick lead.  He went (5 for 9) from the floor while also grabbing (5) rebounds.

Senior Josh Laureano guided the Medaille offense by dishing out a game high (7) assists and pulling down a game best (8) boards.  Sophomore Jammal Coleman knocked down (6 of 7) shots en route to a (13) point effort.  Both Anthony Battaglia and Alex Baron chipped in with (13) points apiece in the win.

The Mavs bench outscored their counterparts (38-21) and a stingy Medaille defense limited the Redhawks to (36.2%) shooting from the floor and (21.7%) from beyond the arc.  They also won the battle of the paint (30-26) while turning eight La Roche turnovers into (15) points on the other end of the floor.

The win is the second straight for Medaille and it pushes their record to (5-2) overall as they improve to (2-1) in AMCC play.  Up next is another huge conference matchup as rival Penn State-Behrend comes to Buffalo on Thursday (12/13) for an 8:00pm showdown with the Mavs.
