BUFFALO, NY – The Redhawks (4-3, 2-1) made 83% of their free throws and turned the ball over a mere eight times in an 82-62 loss to conference rival Medaille College (5-2, 2-1) on Saturday.
Joel McIntosh led La Roche with 11 points and David Jackson added 8 points and 9 rebounds. Lionel Perkins and Derek Barber-Richards scored 7 points apiece and Daron Tabron went a perfect 6 for 6 from the free throw line. Andre Flaningan finished with 8 points and Jimmy Hawley (5) and Zaire Redding (4) each set career-highs in points.
Despite the loss, the Redhawks won the battle on the offensive glass and limited their giveaways to just 8 in the game. La Roche hit 15 of 18 free throws, finished with more blocks, and outscored Medaille on second chance points.
La Roche men's basketball returns to action on Wednesday at 8PM when they host Mt. Aloysius. The Mounties enter play undefeated in the AMCC and off a 99-97 2OT win over Penn State Behrend.
