OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Gallaudet University used two different spurts in the first half to jump all over Franciscan University en route to a 85-72 win Sunday on the final day of the Hoopsville National Invitational Classic hosted by Stevenson University.

Gallaudet (1-1) scored the game's first 13 points and later used a 14-0 run to increase its lead to 33-11 with five minutes left in the opening half. The Bison held a 39-19 advantage at intermission.

The Bison had six different players reach double figures in points, including the starting five. Sophomore Ben Coleman (St. Paris, Ohio) came off the bench to net a team-high 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field and 3-for-3 from three-point range in 17 minutes of action.

Junior transfer Orion Palmer (Riverside, Calif.) had 11 points, five assists and a game-high 14 rebounds (12 on the defensive end) to secure his first double-double in a Bison uniform. Senior center Danny Kelly (Strongsville, Ohio) notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Fellow seniors Layton Seeber (Champaign, Ill.) and Jocus Houston (Baton Rouge, La.) had 12 and 11 points, respectively. Seeber added seven assists and two steals while Houston had two rebounds, assists and three steals. Junior Tyler Crace (Westfield, Ind.) made 5-of-8 shots from the field to score 13 points, three steals and two assists.

Franciscan (0-3), who has now lost 29 straight games, was led by Tim Schenk's 22 points off the bench to go with Christian Duke's 19 points and Justin Horstman's 18 points.
