Men's Basketball Falls to Catholic

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Frostburg State men's basketball team fell to Catholic University, 73-56, Wednesday evening.

The Cardinals used a 14-4 run over the first five minutes of the second half to take a 48-35 lead over the Bobcats (2-3) and hold a fiesty FSU offense off.

With 14:08 remaining in the second half, senior Christian Jackson drew a foul on a three and hit all three shots from the line to pull the Bobcats within 10, 48-38. Jackson hit a jumper before a Cardinal turnover gave the ball back to Frostburg with 12:43 left. Senior DeSean Antoine hit a three to cut the CUA lead to seven at 50-43.

Jackson got the Bobcats as close as they would come with a layup at 11:03 to cut the lead to five at 52-47.

After a layup from Jackson at 4:11, the Cardinals went on a 8-2 run over the final minutes to close out the game and hold off the Bobcats.

Jackson led the Bobcats for the fifth-straight game with his fourth 20+ point game. Jackson went 10-23 from the floor with 29 points, including 8-10 from the line. Sophomore Jabari Kamau led FSU with seven rebounds.

The Bobcats return to the court when they travel to Fredericksburg, Va. to open Capital Athletic Conference action with Mary Washington on Saturday, Dec. 1. Tipoff is set for 3:00 pm.
