DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College senior forwards Jeremy Beckett and Daulton Derr combined for 50 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and four blocked shots to lead the Aggies to an 84-64, non-conference victory over visiting Penn State Berks.

The win improved Delaware Valley to 4-3 on the season. The team will not hit the court for nine days until it travels to Swarthmore College on Wednesday, December 12. Penn State Berks remained winless at 0-7.

The lone seniors on the roster, Beckett and Derr shined on Monday evening. Derr was 12-for-17 from the field, including a 5-for-8 effort beyond the arc. He finished with 30 points and five boards.

Beckett, a two-time all-Freedom Conference honoree, hit eight of 12 shots from the field, including a trio of highlight-reel dunks. He had 20 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, three blocked shots and three steals. The three rejections upped Beckett's career total to 202, making him the first player in program history to surpass the 200-block plateau.

The Aggies finished the game shooting 54.1 percent from the field, including an 18-for-31 effort (58.1%) in the first half. They drained 11 shots from 3-point land and also held a 41-32 advantage on the boards.

Down 12-7 in the early going, Delaware Valley took command with a 24-6 run for a 13-point advantage with 6:17 remaining in the opening stanza. Seven different players scored for the Aggies in the spurt and they eventually took a 45-32 advantage into the intermission.

Delaware Valley opened the second half with five straight points and 14 of the first 21 for a 59-39 lead. The Nittany Lions did make it an 11-point contest at the midway point, before the Aggies countered with a 15-5 run to go up by 21. Beckett and Derr combined for 13 of those 15 points.

Freshmen Chris Moran and Zach Sly added seven points apiece on the evening for Delaware Valley. Junior Cam Lee recorded six points, eight assists and five rebounds.

Darren Major led Penn State Berks with 11 points while Dameon Nixon and Jeff Schmidt had 10 points apiece.
