Millikin Men Down Principia

          The Millikin men's basketball team earned a home win over Principia College 79-69 in the Griswold Center on Dec. 1.  Millikin improves to 2-3 while Principia falls to 0-4.

          Millikin struggled in the first half and were down 40-36 at halftime.  In the second half, it was all Big Blue as Millikin rallied to pull out the 10 point win.  The Big Blue's second half comeback was fueled by improved intensity on both end of the floor and the hot shooting of TJ Griffin.  Griffin who played on six minutes in the first half due to foul trouble, scored 19 of his game high 23 points in the second half.  Griffin hit on five of seven three pointers in the second half to fuel the Millikin run.

          Millikin shot 44 percent from the field while the Panthers shot 40 percent.  Millikin out rebounded Principia 46-31. 

          Alex Tueth kept Millikin in the game in the first half scoring all 11 of his points and five of his six rebounds in the opening half.  Deavis Johnson had 10 points and a team high nine rebounds for Millikin.  Rodney Clark had seven points and seven rebounds.

          Kenny Sydness had a team high 22 points for the Panthers.  Damon Wilgus added 17.

          Millikin will host Fontbonne University on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m.
