Arlington, Va. – Marymount University's men's basketball team fell 68-55 to visiting Shenandoah in its 2012-13 home opener on Wednesday night.  The Saints drop to 1-3 overall on the season heading into the start of Capital Athletic Conference play this weekend.

Aaron Walsh led the Saints with 13 points in just 11 minutes of action on the hardwood.  He shot 4-for-5 from the floor, including knocking down both his three-point attempts, and was a perfect 3-for-3 from the free throw line.

Antonio Rouse added nine points to go with a game-high four assists while JC Hoellich added seven points.  Hoellich led all players with three blocks while Marcus Carmon grabbed a game-high seven rebounds.

A back-and-forth first half featured five ties and six lead changes.  No team lead by more than two possessions, a six-point Shenandoah lead that was cut to 29-26 heading into halftime courtesy of a late bucket by Walsh. 

Coming out of the break, the Hornets would post a double-figure lead five minutes into the frame.  Shenandoah led by as many as 12 until a 14-4 Marymount run tied things up at 48-48 with just over seven minutes to play.  After the run, back-to-back threes by SU gave the visitors the cushion they needed to hold the Saints at bay the rest of the game.

Sharif Almulla led Shenandoah with 17 points while Avery Green added 15.

Marymount returns to action in its CAC opener on the road at Wesley on Saturday afternoon.
