#17 RAMAPO OUTLASTS NJCU, 67-60, IN NJAC AND HOME OPENER

JERSEY CITY, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | No. 17 ranked Ramapo College opened the second half on an 18-6 run to build a nine-point lead midway through the period and New Jersey City University was unable to draw any closer than four points the rest of the contest as the Roadrunners outlasted NJCU, 67-60, in the 2012-13 New Jersey Athletic Conference opener for both schools on November 20 at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center on 'Coach Charlie Brown Court.'
 
Ramapo, ranked 17th in the D3hoops.com preseason national poll, improved to 2-0 (1-0 NJAC) while the Gothic Knights, also playing in its home opener, dropped to 1-2 (0-1 NJAC). NJCU continues to lead the all-time series, 61-20.
 
Ramapo, the preseason favorite to win the NJAC in the league's coaches' poll, had four players score in double figures, and two tally double doubles.
 
NJCU freshman shooting guard KHALID MUHAMMAD (Orange, NJ/Orange), the reigning NJAC Rookie of the Week, scored in double figures for the third straight game to open his career, finishing with 10 points (5-12 FG) and three steals while senior shooting guard NAADIR WILLIAMS (Newark, NJ/Weequahic) also collected 10 points, and three assists, but struggled from the field (2-12 FG, 1-10 3FG).
