Herron Claims All-Tournament Award

GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Jordan Herron scored 20 points for the first time in his young collegiate career to claim a position on the all-tournament team and Alex Harville and Anthony Wash added 17 and 10, respectively, as Albion College defeated Purdue-North Central, 91-80, in the consolation game of the Mike Rokicki Community Versus Cancer Challenge.

Herron, a first-year player from Holt, knocked down 5-of-8 shots from the field and 10-of-12 from the free throw line. He also led all players with seven rebounds.

Albion shot a season-best 60 percent (27-of-45) from the field as it never trailed. Herron scored six points during a 16-7 run as the Britons built a 22-13 lead. Albion built the margin to as many as 17 before settling for a 47-32 lead at halftime.

Albion led by as many as 22 in the second half.

Albion continues non-league play Wednesday with a road trip to Heidelberg University.
