Beavers Display Balanced Attack in Season Opening Route

NEW YORK – Brandon Reeves and Anthony Lewis combined for 29 points and 11 rebounds as the City College of New York Beavers (1-0) dominated from the tip-off to easily defeat the Warriors of Vaughn College (2-1), 75-39, in their 2012-13 season opener on Thursday evening at Nat Holman Gymnasium.

The balanced Beavers offense was on full display in the season opener as CCNY posted 21 offense rebounds (47 total) and 22 assists on 32 made field goals.

Lewis finished with a game-high 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting and added five rebounds while Reeves posted 14 points (7-of-10), five rebounds and two steals. Guilherme Brodt posted a game-high eight rebounds came off the bench.

The Warriors trailed 16-12 with just over 10 minutes of action left in the first half before CCNY displayed a shooting clinic to enter halftime with a 47-22 lead.

City College returns to action on Saturday as the Beavers host Berkeley College at 12 PM.
