The Albright College men's basketball team went on a 23-4 run to open the second half and hit triple-digits for the first time since 2010, beating King's 103-74 on the road Tuesday.

Junior Reuel Moore went off against the Monarchs for a second consecutive year, making 5-of-7 threes and finishing with 19 points. Senior Dave Singleton came close to a triple-double, totaling 14 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists.

Also in double-figures for the Lions were Pedro Perez (16), Sam Marrella (15) and Zach Benjamin (12). Albright shot a red-hot 54% from behind the arc, making 15-of-28 three-point attempts.

Both sides had started the season 2-0 with Tip-Off Tournament victories- King's down in Susquehanna and Albright at its own Wyndham-Reading tourney.

Albright opened the second half in the press, converting after Perez' steal for a quick four-point run. Perez then canned a three after three-plus minutes to put his side up 57-46.

Marrella hit a wide-open three with 15:00 left to make it 62-46; the junior then ran off a screen to the left corner and drained another three for a 67-46 advantage. Marrella then came on a trailing run and pulled up dead-center for his third-consecutive trey, and a 70-48 Albright advantage.
 
Moore hit a tough runner and then a three-pointer with 10 minutes to play for an 80-58 Lion advantage. Freshman Calvert Gantz then got into the action with an athletic put-back off a missed three-point attempt.

Singleton fed Moore with his seventh assist and should have had another on the next fast break, but Perez was fouled from behind. Moore drained another three off Marrella's pass to lead 91-62.

Sophomore transfer Travis Layne banked in a three to officially put Albright over the century mark, with a 101-72 lead.

Singleton drained a jumper just 10 seconds into the game, with Matt Fiorino answered for King's from behind the arc.

Singleton was looking to key the fast break, finding Jordan for a lay-in and then again to draw a foul as Albright inched ahead. Just as he did late in a comeback win over Immaculata, Benjamin drained a three-pointer; Singleton then stole the inbounds and Jordan hit two free throws for a 13-5 advantage.

Another Singleton steal on the press was followed by a three-pointer as Albright pushed its lead to double-digits. Fiorino stopped the bleeding with another trey.

The Monarchs scored eight unanswered points but Moore came into the game and drained a three-pointer to restore a double-digit Albright advantage. Keyton Winder (9-of-12, 20 points) answered with five straight points for the Monarchs, including a three-point play. Later, another and-one for Winder cut the gap to 32-29.
 
Singleton hustled for an offensive rebound and then fed Perez in the post for a 43-33 lead, late in the first half. The Lions went into the break with a lead of just four points, after Tim O'Shea stole the ball and converted two free throws in the final few seconds.
 
The Lions are 3-0 on the season and host local opponent Penn State-Berks on Saturday at 3 p.m., while King's falls to 2-1.
