Rochester shot 64% from the floor, 60% outside the arc, and went on to a 98-64 victory over Nazareth College at the Louis Alexander Palestra.

John DiBartolomeo led four men in double figures. He had 23 points, eight assists, four steals, and three rebounds in 26 minutes. Tyler Seidman and Nate Vernon scored 12 points apiece for UR (3-0). Rob Reid had 10 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.

Brad Ford led Nazareth (2-1) with 16 points and eight rebounds. Jack Giles scored 12 points and Maurice Mills scored 12.

UR raced to an 11-0 lead in the first three minutes with DiBartolomeo (seven) and Reid (four) combining for all the points. Tyshun Stevens scored four points to key a 9-2 run that got the Golden Flyers within 13-9. 

The Rochester lead was five, 16-11, after two free throws from Mitch Ford for Nazareth. Vernon sank a three-pointer for UR, then DiBartolomeo made a conventional three-point play and added another layup to get it to 24-11 with 12:34 left in the half.

Mills made two free throws to draw Nazareth within five, 26-21, at 8:24. Rochester pushed the advantage to 16, 39-23, on two Vernon free throws with 4:27 left. Mills sank a trey, Brad Ford made two free throws, and Stephens hit a runner in the lane. It was 39-30 with 3:09 left. Rochester finished the half on a 13-2 run with Tyler Sankes scoring four of the 13. UR led, 53-32, at the break. 

For the game, Rochester hit 64.4% (38 of 59). Reid and Sankes combined to sink 9 of 12 shots. Seidman was 5 of 5, including 2-2 on three-pointers. UR was 12 of 20 outside the arc.

Nazareth found its shooting touch a bit in the second half, hitting 46% (13-28). For the game, the Golden Flyers were 22 of 51 (43%), 5 of 15 outside the arc.

This was Rochester's first win over Nazareth in two years. The Golden Flyers defeated the Yellowjackets in three straight since then, including two in the Wendy's Classic. Nazareth won the title, 62-60, over UR in 2010 and won the semifinal last year, 66-64.
