Roger Williams scored first on a layup by Cook, and staking an early 9-2 lead. Suffolk answered with nine straight points, capped off by a three-pointer by Halpin to take an 11-9 lead. Suffolk maintained the lead for the remainder of the period, going up by as many as nine (31-22) with under two minutes to play. The Rams would ultimately go into halftime with a 31-24 lead.

The Hawks clawed their way back into the lead halfway through the second period. Palumbo scored the go-ahead bucket at the 13:49 mark, intercepting a Ram pass and driving down the length of the floor for a layup as part of an 11-3 run to give RWU a 35-34 lead.

RWU pulled away from Suffolk towards the seven-minute mark, turning a 39-37 lead into a commanding 16-point advantage with a 14-0 run that essentially put the game away for the Hawks.

In the consolation game, Lesley and UMaine-Fort Kent battled back and forth throughout the first half. The period saw six lead changes and four ties, culminating in UMaine-Fort Kent holding on to a slim 32-31 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the contest remained back and forth, with four lead changes and one tie in the opening five minutes. Justin Rosa (East Brunswick N.J.) put in a layup to give Lesley a 41-40 lead with 15:13 to play. Rosa's bucket helped spark a 13-3 run for the Lynx to give Lesley a bit of breathing room.

UMaine-Fort Kent's Andre Poux (Miramar, Fla.) hit a free throw with 2:13 to play to bring the Bengals within four (50-54), but six straight Ram points push the lead back to ten with just over a minute left, leaving the Bengal rally just short.
