GU men's basketball dealt first conference loss of the season

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Gallaudet University men's basketball team suffered its first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) loss of the season on Saturday as the Bison ran into a hot shooting Keuka College squad at the Field House. The visiting Storm shot 46.2 percent from the field and went to the free-throw line 29 times in the second half to secure an 82-66 win.

Gallaudet (7-7, 5-1 NEAC South) and Keuka (4-8, 4-1 NEAC North) battled back-and-forth as the game featured 13 lead changes. The Storm held a 34-32 lead at the half and outscored Gallaudet 48-34 in the second half as Keuka made 23-of-29 shots from the free-throw line. Both teams made nine three-pointers and the Storm made 24 field goals to 23 made by the Bison. The two teams also had 38 rebounds each.

GU had four players score double figures led by senior forward Layton Seeber (Champaign, Ill.) who scored 16 points and tallied four rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals. Junior forward Danny Kelly (Strongsville, Ohio) came off the bench to net 13 points and five rebounds while senior guard Tony Tatum (Gardendale, Ala.) added 12 points and 12 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Fellow senior guard Brandon McMillan (Frederick, Md.) chipped in 11 points, four rebounds and four assists.
