Kasey Oetting came off the bench to spark a 25-0 scoring run by the Wabash basketball team and lift the Little Giants to a 69-32 win at Oberlin Saturday afternoon. Oetting finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds for his first career double-double.

The Wabash bench outscored Oberlin 41-12 to help the Little Giants secure the fourth seed in the upcoming North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Tournament. Wabash will play Denison on Tuesdday night at home in the first round of the tournament.

Oberlin (7-18, 2-14) tied the game at 10-10 with 11:17 left in the first half when Oetting exploded for seven straight points. Andy Walsh added a three-pointer, followed by baskets by Colten Craigin and Evan Johnson to break the game open.

"Our bench really gave us a lift today," Wabash head coach Antoine Carpenter said. "Oetting played exceptionally well, but really all seven bench players played hard at both ends of the floor. We got good shots to score, but really limited Oberlin with our defense throughout the game. Now we have to get ready for a tough home contest against Denison and care over the effort from today's game."

Wabash extended the 35-12 halftime lead to as many as 40 points. The Little Giants held Oberlin to 9-of-44 shooting (20.5 percent) while Wabash hit 24-of-48 shots from the field for 50 percent. Wabash also forced 19 Oberlin turnovers.

Oetting's 12 points and 11 rebounds produced his first career double-double. Walsh finished with 11 points, while Craigin scored a career-high nine points. Derek Bailey added 10 points in only 21 minutes of court time.

Wabash finished the regular season with an overall record of 18-7 and a mark of 10-6 in NCAC games. Tipoff for Tuesday night's game against Denison is at 7:30 p.m. at Chadwick Court. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and children. Wabash and Denison students are admitted free of charge with an appropriate student ID.
