All 13 Cowboys scored in the game and HSU shot 46.2 percent in the game and won the battle of the board 43-40 to avenge an earlier loss to the Lobos in Alpine.
HSU led throughout the game and a 15-4 run midway through the first half pushed the lead to 29-14 with 6:29 to play in the half. The Cowboys led 41-28 at halftime.
In the second half, Sul Ross State cut the deficit to 51-44 with 13:53 to play, but the Cowboys hit six 3-pointers in the next seven possessions to push the lead out to 70-54 with 8:08 to play.
The Cowboys scored 19 points off of 13 Sul Ross State turnovers and HSU outscored Sul Ross State 19-7 in fastbreak opportunities.
Addison led all scorers with 29 points and Derr added 21 points, 17 of which came in the second half.
Sul Ross State was led by Bralyn Thomas' 20 points. Darrell Gardner added 12 points and Colton Thompson had 11 for the Lobos.
HSU is now 18-6 on the year and 15-5 in ASC action. Sul Ross State fell to 7-17 overall and 7-13 in league play. HSU closes the regular season on Saturday at home against Howard Payne for Senior Day.
