HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (February 15, 2012) – The Cyclones watched their playoff dreams slip out of reach tonight as they dropped a pivotal game against Immaculata 69-59 to mark their final game of the 2011-2012 season.

Immaculata jumped out ahead early with a 9-2 run to open up the game, but the Cyclones were sure to respond immediately with an 11-3 run of their own to take back the lead at 13-12 with just over 15:30 left to go in the first half.

With the Cyclones ahead 17-16 and just over 11 minutes remaining, the Mighty Macs took off with nine unanswered points to take back the lead 25-17. The Cyclones wouldn't sit quiet for too long after that though as they responded with five unanswered points of their own to cut the deficit to 25-22.

Unfortunately for the Cyclones, the Mighty Macs turned it on at the end of the half, going on an 11-2 run at the end of the half to enter the locker room with a 36-24 lead over Centenary.

Coming out of the locker room, the Mighty Macs looked like they would continue to control the court as they held a 40-30 lead after the first two minutes, but the Cyclones responded immediately with a 12-2 run led by a huge momentum changing dunk by Andy Charles (West Orange, N.J./Montclair) to tie the game up at 42-42.

After an exchange of baskets by both teams however, the Mighty Macs took the game right back into their own hands as they came with 13 unanswered points to go ahead 60-47, enough to hold the lead for the rest of the game as they went on for a 69-59 victory over the Cyclones.

Junior Warren Murphy (Ridgefield Park, N.J./Ridgefield Park) led the Cyclones with 22 points, eight rebounds, and four assists for his third consecutive game with over 20 points. Senior Larry Lenahan (South Amboy, N.J./South Amboy) finished one point shy of his ninth double-double of the season tonight, finishing with nine points, 11 rebounds, two blocks, one steal, and one assist on the night.

Lenahan and the Cyclones four other seniors, Colin Horsch (Monroe Township, N.J./Atlantic Christian), Ludner Innocent (Asbury Park, N.J./Academy Charter), Ryan Donovan (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion), and Daniel Stein (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel) were honored before tonight's game for their effort, dedication, and hard work they have given to the Centenary College men's basketball program over the years. Tonight marked the final game in a Cyclones uniform for those five seniors who have all contributed so much to the program.

Despite the loss, the Cyclones would have still had a chance at making the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) tournament pending a Rosemont College victory, but the Ravens were able to take down the Baptist Bible College defenders 66-60 to eliminate the Cyclones from playoff contentions. With the loss, the Cyclones finish the season with a 12-13 overall record including an 8-10 conference mark.
