Feinberg Records Seventh Double-Double of the Season in Thomas More's 69-60 Win at Waynesburg

(WAYNESBURG, Pa.) - Junior small forward Phil Feinberg (Tempe, Ariz./Corona Del Sol) recorded his seventh double-double of the season today (Saturday, February 11, 2012) with 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Thomas More College men's basketball team to a 69-60 win over Waynesburg University in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania.

With the win, the Saints improve to 17-7 overall and 12-3 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 4-19 overall and 1-13 in the PAC.

Waynesburg jumped out to an early 17-7 lead on a Lou Galante three-pointer with 12:03 to play in the first half.  Thomas More answered with a 10-3 run to cut the lead to 20-17 when senior center Colt Stafford (Groveport, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) converted a three-point play with 7:28 to play in the opening half.  The Yellow Jackets responded with a 9-6 run capped by a Casey Hope jumper with 2:46 to play in the half to extend the lead to 29-23.  The Saints closed out the half on a 6-3 run to cut the lead to 32-29 at halftime when Feinberg made a jumper with 34-seconds to play in the first half.

Thomas More opened the second half on a 26-10 run to take a 55-42 lead with 9:05 to play in the game when Stafford made a jumper.  Waynesburg responded with a 7-0 run to cut the lead to 55-49 when Jason Propst made a lay-up with 6:14 to play in the second half.  The Saints answered with a 6-0 run to increase the lead to 61-49 with 4:18 to play in the game when Feinberg made two free-throws.  The Yellow Jackets used a 9-3 run to cut the lead to 64-58 when Jacob Fleegle made one-of-two free-throws with 38-seconds to play in the game.  That would be as close as the Yellow Jackets would come as Thomas More closed out the game on a 5-2 run for the 69-60 victory.

Two other Saints joined Feinberg in double-figure scoring as Stafford and sophomore shooting guard Cameron Clemons (Louisville, Ky./Doss) both scored 14 points.  Clemons led the team in assists with three and Feinberg led the team in steals with three.

Thomas More will close out the 2011-2012 regular season on Wednesday (February 15) when it hosts Saint Vincent College at 7:30 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
