GREENSBORO, N.C. – Gabriel Lowder scored a game-high 23 points in Guilford College's 68-49 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball win over visiting Washington and Lee University Wednesday night. The triumph gave Guilford (16-6, 10-3 ODAC) a sweep of the season series with the Generals (12-10, 5-8 ODAC) and marked the Quakers' seventh win in eight games.

Lowder, the reigning ODAC Player of the Week, picked up where he left off after scoring a career-high 36 points and school-record 10 three-pointers in Guilford's Feb. 1 home win over Roanoke College, the Quakers' last outing. The senior guard had 11 first-half points, which helped Guilford open a 33-23 advantage. He added 12 in the second half and ended up with four three-pointers on eight-of-14 field-goal shooting.

Washington and Lee's Javon McDonald was hotter than Lowder in the first half, scoring 18 points on five-of-seven shooting from three-point range. However, he managed only two second-half shots and missed them both. Teammate Clay McLean netted 12 of his 15 points in the second half, but he could not help the Generals closer than eight points in the second half.

Lowder was the lone Quaker in double-figure scoring. Senior Brad Monroe contributed eight points and seven rebounds. Teammates Matt McCarthy and Gene Efird both added eight points off the bench. Senior Justin Stafford tallied a game- and career-high 10 rebounds and four points. He helped the Quakers enjoy a commanding 46-26 rebounding edge.
