Big Run Propels Medaille Men to Easy Win Over Mt. Aloysius

BUFFALO, NY - The Medaille College men's basketball team battled the Mount Aloysius Mounties Saturday afternoon and finished the day with a (93-63) victory. After being up 44-32 the Mavericks were sparked by an opening 16-0 run to start the second half.

Leading the Mavs in scoring was Steve Bryant who totaled (18) points on six of seven shooting (85.7%) from behind the three point line. In addition to his 18 points, Bryant added (7) rebounds.  Other Mavericks contributing to the win were Phil Maiarana who notched (14) points and Jammal Coleman who added (11) points of his own.

Overall, the Mavericks shot 31 of 64 (48.4%) from the field including 13 of 32 (40.6%) from behind the three point line.  The Mavs once again did a tremendous job of sharing the ball as they had (21) assists on (31) made field goals.  Leading the Maverick offense was Angel Flores who dished out seven assists while committing no turnovers.

In a game that included 37 total fouls between both teams, the Mavericks were able to be successful at the free throw line hitting 18 of 22, good for (81.8%)
The win pushes the Mavs record to (20-2) overall and (14-1) in AMCC play. This marks the third straight season that the Mavs have reached the (20) win mark.  The Mavericks will get a little rest before heading out to Penn State-Altoona on Saturday February 11th for a 1:00pm AMCC matchup with the Lions.
