JOHNSON, Vt. – The Spartans forced 27 Johnson State College turnovers and used 17 3-point field goals to earn a 106-82 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory on Thursday night in Johnson and win their seventh straight NAC win.

Castleton finished 17-for-51 from downtown and shot 43.4 percent from the field as 14 players hit a field goal. The team improves to 8-7 overall with the win and is tied atop the conference standings with a 7-1 mark. The Badgers, meanwhile fall to 3-6 in NAC action and 3-12 overall.

Freshman Mark Pryzbylkowski (New Egypt, N.J.) knocked down six 3-pointers en route to a career-high 23 points, with 20 of them coming in the first half.  Junior Mark Comstock (Rutland, Vt.) added 15 points and eight rebounds, Chad Pulver (Bennington, Vt.) scored 12 points, and Greg Hughes (West Rutland, Vt.) tossed in 11 for the Spartans.  Sophomore Matt Cooney (Washingtonville, N.Y) also had a strong game with eight points, five assists, four rebounds and a pair of steals.

Johnson was led by freshman Cory Chase (Milton, Vt.) and his 16 points and nine rebounds while sophomore Billy Boyd (Hardwick, Vt.) added 15 points.  Juniors Cody Camisa (Colchester, Vt.) and Andy Bousono (Philadelphia, Penn.) each reached double-figures with 11 and 10 points respectively to support the JSC offense.

Johnson trailed by just five with 4:52 remaining in the first half, 33-28, but Castleton used a 17-5 run to take a 17-point bulge into the locker room.  In the second half the Spartans only allowed the Badgers to get within 12 on a pair of occasions before pulling away for the comfortable win.

Castleton returns to the court on Saturday when the Spartans host Lyndon St. at 3 p.m.
