RADNOR, Pa. – Someone in a movie once said "There's no place like home."  The Cabrini College men's basketball team must be thinking the same thing when a Colonial States Athletic Conference foe enters Nerney Field House.  The Cavaliers extended their home CSAC winning streak to 40 games with tonight's 78-73 win over Gwynedd-Mercy College.

Cabrini's last home loss to a conference opponent was on January 31, 2008, a 74-68 loss to Gwynedd-Mercy.  The Cavaliers have also 37 consecutive home games overall.

The #10 Cavaliers used a balanced attack, six players tallying between 8-13 points, as Cabrini held off the Griffins.  The game featured seven lead changes and six ties as neither team led by more than eight points.

The Griffins opened the scoring with back-to back lay-ups but the Cavaliers responded as senior John Boyd (Trappe, Pa./ Perkiomen Valley) knocked in a three-pointer followed by a Goran Dulac (Levittown, Pa./ Pennsbury) lay-up to take a 5-4 lead.  Gwynedd-Mercy retook the lead and maintained a slight advantage for the majority of the first half.

Cabrini trailed by five with just under seven minutes before the break when the Cavaliers grabbed the momentum.  The Blue and White closed the half on a 20-9 run, punctuated by Jeremy Knowles' (Antioch, Cal./ Pittsburg) three-pointer just before the halftime buzzer, sending Cabrini into the break with a 42-36 lead.

Junior A.J. Williams (Wilmington, Del./ St. Elizabeth) and senior Cory Lemons (Wilmington, Del./ Glasgow) led the Cavaliers with nine points each in the opening stanza, while Boyd and Knowles added six points each.

Two Dulac free throws early in the half extended Cabrini's lead to a game-high eight points before the Griffins went on a 17-6 run to take a 53-50 lead with just over 14 minutes to play.

Dulac ended the run a three-pointer from the top of the key.  Free throws gave Gwynedd-Mercy another three point lead but again a Cabrini big man responded from deep.  This time junior Abraham Bah (Philadelphia, Pa./ Freire Charter) connected on a trey, sending the Cavaliers on a 11-0 run to give the Blue and White a 64-56 lead with just under 10 minutes to play.

Gwynedd-Mercy rebounded with a run of its own, cutting Cabrini's lead to just one points with eight minutes on the clock.  This time, the Cavaliers would not give up their lead.  Fran Rafferty's (King of Prussia, Pa./ Upper Merion) lay-in pushed Cabrini's lead out to three before Dulac struck again extending the advantage to five points.

Two buckets by the Griffins sliced Cabrini's lead to one point again with 2:50 on the clock.  After what appeared to be a tough defensive stand, Lemons found Rafferty deep in the left corner.  Rafferty's only three-pointer of the game gave the Cavaliers an insurmountable four point lead with less than 90 seconds to play.

Dulac led four Cavaliers in double figure scoring with 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds.  Knowles added 12 points off the bench, while Williams chipped in with 11 points.  Rafferty finished with nine points, seven rebounds and four assist.

Lemons messed around and almost got a triple-double, recording 12 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists against just two turnovers in 39 minutes of action.

Senior Dan DelConte (Blue Bell, Pa./ Wissahickon) led the Griffins (10-7, 5-4 CSAC) with 15 points.

The Blue and White will travel to Clarks Summit, Pa. on Saturday to face Baptist Bible College.  Tip-off is scheduled for approximately 3:00 p.m., following the women's game.
