Millikin Men Lose to Elmhurst

          The Millikin men's basketball team lost to a hot shooting Elmhurst College Bluejays team falling 71-49 at the Griswold Center on Jan. 17.

          The Bluejays shot 64 percent from the field in the first half and shot 56 percent from the field for the game.  Elmhurst shot 67 percent from three point range on the night going six of nine.  Millikin shot 38.5 percent from the field.  The Bluejays had a 34 to 24 rebounding advantage.

          Millikin's top scorer was Rodney Clark with 14 points.  Matt Merrigan and Brock Von Nordeck each added 11 points.  Nikko Robertson had nine points and a team high seven rebounds.

          Elmhurst's top scorer was James Robertson with 16 points.  Zach Boyd had 14 points and a team high 10 rebounds.

          Millikin will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 21 when they host North Central at 7 p.m.  The date is Saturday night doubleheader for the Big Blue with the women's game starting at 5 p.m.
