Transy takes over first-place in HCAC with win over RHIT

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Transy used big runs to start both halves and took sole possession of first place in the HCAC with a 60-46 win over Rose-Hulman on Saturday at the Beck Center.

The Pioneers (13-2, 7-1 HCAC) came out of the gates on an 8-0 run and kicked off the second half with a 15-3 run, leading by as many as 17 on their way to victory.

Transy was led by Ethan Spurlin (20 points) and Brandon Rash (16), two of the top five scorers in the conference. Julian Strickland scored 15 points to lead the Engineers (12-3, 6-2).

Transy is back in action on Wednesday, when the Pioneers travel to Mt. St. Joseph for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
