#13 Cavaliers Steamroll Ravens

ROSEMONT, Pa. - After earning two straight CSAC victories the Rosemont men's basketball team ran into a Cabrini powerhouse tonight, succumbing to the visitors by a final score of 94-66. The Raven's record dropped to 8-6 (5-3 CSAC) while the Cavaliers improved to 13-1 (8-0 CSAC) with the result.

While Cabrini led the game the entire way, the Ravens survived a disastrous shooting streak to begin the first half, missing five straight three-point field goal attempts and missing their first six shots. When Harrison Carsillo (Sr./Collingswood, NJ) converted the first basket for the home side the game was locked at only 2-2 with 3 1/2 minutes played. After dodging that opening bullet, though, Cabrini outscored Rosemont 15-2 over the next 4:15 to take a commanding 17-4 lead with 12:19 left. It appeared that it was going to be a long night for the Ravens at that point. With 6:42 left in the first the Cavaliers held a 19-point lead (35-16) when the Ravens got to work to make a game out of it, outscoring the nationally-ranked Cavaliers 12-3 to get back to within 38-31 with 1:34 left. The Cavs took a manageable ten-point 43-33 lead into halftime.

The momentum that the Ravens appeared to build towards the end of the half was short-lived as it took 4:17 for Cabrini to build the lead back up to 21 points, outscoring Rosemont 17-6 during that stretch. The Ravens never seriously threatened after that point and Cabrini extended the lead for the victory.

Rosemont placed four players in double-figures as Harrison Carsillo led the pack with 15 points. Carsillo added six rebounds to top the Ravens in that category. Mitch Carsillo (Jr./Collingswood, NJ) scored 11 while Justin Chaney (Jr./Williamstown, NJ) and Derrick Carter (Jr./Millville, NJ) each added ten points.

Cabrini's Cory Lemons scored 20 points and earned a double-double with 11 rebounds. Jeremy Knowles added 12 for the Cavaliers while teammate Goran Dulac was strong underneath, reeling in nine caroms.

Ending their longest homestand of the season, the Ravens now go on the road to face the CSAC 2nd place team, Keystone College on Saturday, 1/14 starting at 3:00pm.
