ROSEMONT, Pa. - It took five tries since the inception of the Rosemont men's basketball program, but the Ravens (8-5, 5-2 CSAC) earned their first-ever win against their CSAC-rival Neumann University Knights (6-8, 3-4 CSAC) this evening by a final score of 81-71. The win was the seventh consecutive at home this season for the Ravens.

The visiting Knights took their first and only lead of the game on the first scoring play on a lay-up from Mark Blount. From there the Ravens went on a 20-5 run over the next eight minutes to take a 13-point lead at 20-7. The Knights put together a couple of attempts at a comeback, getting to within 30-29 with 3:13 left in the half, but the Ravens righted the ship and took a five-point lead into the break, up 37-32.

Neumann kept up the pressure to start the second stanza, twice coming to within a point of the home side. With Rosemont leading 39-38 and 17:34 left to play the Ravens put together a 9-1 run over the next two minutes to take a more comfortable nine-point lead, 48-39, with 15:24 left. Rosemont extended their lead to 58-42 with 10:33 left, enough to put the game out of reach of the Knights.

Harrison Carsillo (Sr./Collingswood, NJ)  put together his second consecutive double-double, scoring a team season-high 23 points added to his 11 rebounds. Teammates Justin Chaney (Jr./Williamstown, NJ) and Derrick Carter (Jr./Millville, NJ) also hit double-figures on offense tonight, scoring 14 and 13 points respectively.

The Knights placed four players in double-figures in scoring. Mark Blount scored 13 and added 10 boards for a double-double. He was helped out by Gerald Bryant (14), Patrick O'Connor (12) and Mike Walukiewicz (10).

Neumann out-rebounded the Ravens 36-28, but Rosemont committed only 11 turnovers in the game compared to 16 from the Knights. Rosemont shot 52% from the field compared to Neumann's 44%.

The Ravens continue their longest homestand of the season on Wednesday, 1/11 when they host the #13-ranked Cabrini Cavaliers in a CSAC contest that is scheduled to tip-off at 8:00pm.
