Mavs Make it Three Straight with Win Over Mt. Aloysius

CRESSON,PA- The Medaille College Men's Basketball team traveled to Cresson, PA Saturday afternoon to take on the Mount Aloysius Mounties. The Mavericks jumped out to a big first half lead of 41-31 heading into halftime. After a tough battle in the second half, the Mavericks were able to extend their win streak to three games with a 98-83 win.

The Mavericks were very strong on the offensive side of the ball. Overall, six players on the Mavericks scored at least ten points. The Mavericks were carried by Sean Bellomo and Jammal Coleman who scored (15) points each in the game. Bellomo also chipped in (8) rebounds, including five on the offensive glass along with (4) blocks.

Other players contributing to the win were Josh Laureano and Angel Flores both who scored (12) points. Laureano added (7) rebounds and (7) assists while Flores helped with (6) rebounds.

The key to the game was the difference in free throws. The Mavericks would attempt 37 free throws, coverting on 32 of them for a percentage of (86.5%). On the other side of the ball, the Mounties would only make it to the line 6 times, converting on 3 of them for a percentage of (50.0%). With the field goal percentage and three-point percentage nearly the same, the game was won at the foul line for the Mavericks.

The Mavericks head to Pittsburgh, PA tomorrow to take on La Roche College at 1:00 p.m.
