(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - Freshman small forward Drew Mumford (Louisville, Ky./Christian Academy) scored a career-high 18 points to lead the Thomas More College men's basketball team to a 79-68 win over Westminster College today (Saturday, January 7, 2012) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints improve to 9-5 overall and 4-2 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Titans fall to 2-11 overall and 1-5 in the PAC.

Westminster took an early 24-12 lead with 11:58 to play in the first half when Anthony Thomas made a jumper.  Thomas More answered with a 20-4 run to take a 32-28 lead when freshman shooting guard Jalen Clark (Frankfort, Ky./Western Hills) made lay-up with 2:45 to play in the half.  The Titans responded with a 7-2 run to retake the lead at 35-34 with 44-seconds to play in the first half when Max Spinner made a lay-up.  The Saints retook the lead at 36-35 at halftime when sophomore shooting guard Eliot Pipes (Nashville, Tenn./Hillsboro) made two free-throws with five-seconds to play in the opening half.

Westminster opened the second half on a 14-4 run to take a 49-40 lead on a Thomas lay-up with 13:55 to play in the game.  The Saints answered with a 32-15 run capped by a lay-up by junior small forward Phil Feinberg (Tempe, Ariz./Corona Del Sol) to take a 72-64 lead with 3:31 to play in the game.  Titans put together a 4-3 run to cut the lead to 75-68 with 31-seconds to play in the game on a Thomas lay-up, but that would be as close as they would come as Thomas More went on to the 79-68 victory.

Two other Saints joined Mumford in double-figure scoring as junior point guard Ryan Hamm (Maysville, Ky./Mason County) finished with 11 and Feinberg had 10.  Feinberg completed a double-double as he led the team on the boards with a game-high 10 rebounds, while senior point guard Daniel Whelan (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) led the team in assists with four.

The Saints return to the hardwood on Wednesday (January 11) when they host Waynesburg University at 7:30 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center.
