RAMAPO DEFEATS YORK IN A COME FROM BEHIND WIN, 68-65

Jamaica, NY: The Ramapo College men's basketball team fought back to defeat York College tonight on the road, 68-65 to improve to 8-3 overall. The Cardinals fall to 2-9 overall.

The Cardinals were up by as many as 13 in the first half before taking an eight point lead into the locker room, 34-26 as Elvonney Poole stole the ball and scored a layup for Ramapo as time expired.

In the second half, the Roadrunners tied the game at 38 on a layup by Garret Thiel with 16:03 on the clock before they finally took the lead at 10:48 on another layup by Thiel, he was assisted by Will Sanborn. Ramapo stretched their lead to 11 with just 2:10 to play off a made three pointer by Sanborn before York cut the lead back to five on two made foul shots with fifty seconds remaining in the game. The Cardinals converted on 3-4 foul shots down the stretch as Ramapo held onto the three point win.

Sanborn led the Roadrunners with 18 points while adding eight rebounds, five assists and one block while Thiel added 16 points. Stephon Treadwell and Demetrius Boards each added 14 points and nine rebounds while Jermaine Emanuel and Sanborn led the team with five assists each.

The Roadrunners return to action at the 2011 D3hoops.com Classic in Las Vegas, NV when they take on Ursinus College on December 28th at 3pm and Wesley College the following day at 7pm.
