CRESSON, Pa. – Six Lycoming College men's basketball players finished in double figures as it went over the century mark for the first time in 44 games en route to a 116-101 win over Mount Aloysius on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 17. Along the way, junior Jerald Williams (Riverdale, Md./Bladensburg) shattered his own school-record with 21 assists to pace the offense.

Williams, who crossed 400 career assists in the game, moved within 12 assists of the school's career record of 432 set by Brad Musser from 2002-06. He broke his own single-game and Commonwealth Conference record of 17 assists against Delaware Valley on Jan. 4, 2011, as he shattered the mark by posting 21.

"He's a difference maker," Lycoming head coach Guy Rancourt said. "He is a super talent. He is the engine that makes us go. He is going to rewrite a lot of records here."

Along the way, Williams helped the Warriors (9-0 overall) post the most points in a game since scoring 122 in a 122-91 win over Albright on Feb. 11, 1976. He also posted 10 points to post the double-double and added six rebounds and seven steals.

"Mount Aloysius is a team that gets it and goes," Rancourt, who won his 56th game at Lycoming to pass the 55 he won at John Jay College from 1999-03, said. "We had some problems with that in spots. We thought we were a good team that likes to go and they certainly proved they were a good running team."

The nine-game win streak is tied for the longest in Rancourt's four years as head coach, matching the run from Dec. 20, 2009-Jan. 26, 2010 and is the best start for the Warriors since the 2004-05 team won its first 10 games (one of two 10-game winning streaks in school history) en route to a 17-8 season.

For the first time this season, the Warriors did not have to comeback from a deficit scoring the first bucket and taking a 4-2 lead before never looking back. Over the first 10 minutes of the game, the Warriors grew the lead to 15 points at 34-19 after a layup by junior Ihsaan Davis (Jamaica, N.Y./Christ the King). The Mounties (3-6 overall), who scored 100 points for the fourth time this year and allowed 100 for the sixth time, fought back with a 10-0 run to cut the lead to five with 7:03 left after a 3-pointer from Davario Barksdale.

The Mounties kept the pressure on, getting within a point at 52-51 with 1:21 left, but the Warriors responded, as freshman Chris Foreman (Union, N.J./Union) canned a 3-pointer to start a 7-0 run to close out the half, giving the Warriors a 59-51 lead at the break.

The Mounties stayed close early in the second half, with a layup by Kory Gibson bringing them within two at 68-66 with 15:07 left, but a layup by sophomore Michael Rudy (Danville, Pa./Danville) started a 28-10 run over the next seven minutes that pit the Warriors in charge. Mount Aloysius couldn't get the lead back within single digits and a jumper by junior Anthony Martin (Detroit, Mich./Christ the King) helped the Warriors cross the 100-point plateau with 5:36 left in the game.

Junior Kevin Anthony (Columbus, Ohio/Bridgton Academy) led the Warriors, who shot 55 percent (50-for-91) in the game, with 26 points, including three on thunderous dunks, and he added four steals and three blocks. Foreman posted a career-high 18 points and seven rebounds, as he hit three treys and Davis posted 17 points, three treys, five rebounds and two assists.

Freshman Patrick Dougher (Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood) added 11 points and two assists and Martin finished with 11 points, five rebounds and two steals. Rudy posted eight points, six rebounds and a career-high five blocks. Senior Mike Bradley (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep) added nine points.

Barksdale led the Mounties with 22 points, 10 rebounds and two steals and Gibson added 15 points, three 3-pointers, and two assists. Howard Ferguson posted 14 points and nine rebounds and Kyle Baughman added 10 points and five rebounds.

The Warriors get back on the court on Thursday, Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. when they face Penn State Behrend at Lamade Gym.
