Baruch Runs Past Yeshiva, 71-48, to Stretch Win Streak to Three Games

The Baruch Bearcats recorded their third consecutive victory by defeating the Maccabees of Yeshiva University, 71-48, in a non-conference road game played on Wednesday night in the Washington Heights section of New York City.

The visiting Bearcats defeated their opponent from the Skyline Conference by shooting 55.4 percent (31-56) in the game, which included a solid 66.6 percent (16-24) from the field and 71.4 percent (5-7) from 3-point range in the second half.

With the exception of 3-pointer by Chen Biron to give Yeshiva an early 9-8 lead, the Bearcats led comfortably throughout the entire contest with a 32-19 advantage at halftime. They led by as much as 27 points (67-40) with 5:17 remaining en route to the victory before the final exam/holiday break.


Nate Youngled three players in double-figure scoring with 14 points, followed by Chris Beauchampwith 13 points (5-6 fg) and Calvin Jurewicz-Johnson(5-7 fg) with 12 points, four assists and three steals.

Gil Bash led the Maccabees with 11 points and seven assists.

The Bearcats will return to action at the end of the month by traveling to Ashland, Virginia to compete in the Randolph Macon Holiday Tournament that will begin on Thursday, December 29.

The Bearcats will open play in the four-team tournament by playing the host Randolph Macon from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) at 7:00 pm.

Kean University and Farmingdale State will battle in the other game scheduled to start at 5:00 pm.
