ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.—Freshman guard Will Schlosser (Elizabethtown, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) drilled a 3-pointer with 4.8 seconds remaining to lift Elizabethtown College to a 60-59 victory over The University of Scranton in non-conference action Saturday evening at Thompson Gymnasium.

Schlosser, son of Blue Jay head coach Bob Schlosser, finished with 13 points and sophomore center Andrew Mantz (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) and sophomore guard/forward Joe Schwalm (Halifax, Pa./Hempfield) finished with 14 and 11 points, respectively, as Elizabethtown snapped a three-game losing streak to improve to 2-6.

The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for Scranton, now 4-3.  The Royals, who have now lost their last seven games to the Blue Jays at Thompson Gymnasium and who haven't won there since 1998, were led by junior guard Travis Farrell (Middletown, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) with 18 points.

Scranton also received 16 points from senior guard Luke Hawk (Audubon, Pa./Methacton), who went over the 900-point mark for his career, and 14 points and nine rebounds from senior forward Matt Swaback (Kingston, Pa./Wyoming Seminary).

The Royals still had an opportunity to win it after Scholosser's 3-pointer, but freshman guard Ross Danzig (Clarks Green, Pa./Abington Heights/Blair Academy-NJ) missed a deep baseline jump shot as the buzzer sounded.  Danzig finished with seven points and three assists in 36 minutes of action.

Scranton let a golden opportunity get away after Farrell made two free throws with 1:03 left to give the Royals a 59-57 lead.  With a chance to make it a two-possession game with less than 20 seconds remaining, Scranton sophomore guard Tommy Morgan (Greenlawn, NY/Chaminade) was called for an offensive foul.  It was the 20th turnover on the night for Scranton, which also shot only 40.5 percent from the field, including 3-for-15 (20 percent) from beyond the 3-point arc.

Elizabethtown also struggled from the field, shooting only 33.8 percent, but the Blue Jays nailed eight 3-pointers and converted Scranton's 20 turnovers into 20 points.

The Royals will break for final exams and return to action next Saturday, December 17, against 12th-ranked Cabrini College in Radnor, Pennsylvania, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
