GALESBURG, Ill. - St. Norbert College shot just shy of 53 percent in the second half en route to a 76-57 Midwest Conference win over Knox College at Memorial Gym.

The Green Knights (5-2, 3-1 MWC) connected on 18 of 34 field-goal attempts in the final 20 minutes to pull away from a 32-26 halftime lead. Knox (0-5, 0-4) shot just 39 percent (23-for-59) from the floor for the game.

St. Norbert took the lead for good with 8 minutes 24 seconds left at 18-17 on a Steven Hofacker basket. The Green Knights extended their lead on their next two possessions on a Paul Appleton basket and a Brandon Gries 3-pointer. St. Norbert led by as much as seven points in the first half before leading 32-26 at intermission.

The Green Knights opened the first half on a 10-3 run, scoring on their first four second-half possessions, to take a 42-29 lead on a Garrett Thorn hoop. From there, St. Norbert went on a 13-4 run to take a 55-33 lead following a Trent Monckton basket with 11:33 to go.

Gries finished with a double-double for St. Norbert, scoring 14 points with 10 rebounds. Thorn added 11 points, while Jack Whalen chipped in with 10 points off the bench. Eleven different players scored for the Green Knights, who had just eight turnovers and held a 46-31 rebounding advantage.

Tyler Olson led Knox with 12 points, while Tanner Carlson finished with seven points and nine assists.
