USM senior Chris Pagentine (Lexington, N.C./North Davidson) led four players in double figures with 14 points.  Senior forward Jeremy Jackson (Laplace, La./Independence), junior guard Brian Alexander (Bradenton, Fla./Southeast) and sophomore guard Conor Sullivan (Scarborough, Maine) each had 13 points.  Jackson added eight rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots in a solid all-around effort.

In a closely contested game that had six tied scores and four lead changes in the second half along, the Warriors were able to string together the game-winning plays in the final moments of regulation.

With the score tied at 62-62 with 1:23 to play following a layup from Southern Maine sophomore guard Brandon Tomah (Princeton, Maine/Calais), both teams failed to convert on their ensuing possessions.  The Warriors' Kohn then forced the action making a steal and then scoring the go-ahead points on a lay-up for a narrow 64-62 lead with 28 seconds to play.  The Huskies then had two looks at the basket on their next possession before Kohn again came up big for his team securing a defensive rebound and earning a trip to the foul line.  Kohn put his team up by three with one of two free throws for a 65-62 lead with 10 seconds on the clock.

USM misfired on its final possession and the Warriors' senior forward Hamilton Levy (Woodbury, Conn.) put the finishing touches on the game with two free throws for the 67-62 final.
