Bethel holds down Macalester

Visiting Bethel scored the game's first seven points, led 34-20 at the halftime break, and went on to beat Macalester 66-46 Saturday afternoon at the Leonard Center.  The Royals collect their fourth win in five games and are 1-0 in the MIAC, while the Scots are 0-2 in league play, 0-5 overall.

 

Lamont Diggs (So., Fridley, Minn.) went 4-for-5 from the floor and finished with eight points and five boards.  Pierce Peters (Jr., Glenwood, Minn. / Minnewaska Area) registered a double-double, finishing with 12 points and 11 rebounds while also blocking four shots.  Justin Wasik handed out four assists.

 

Bethel was led by Kyle Zimmerman with 18 points and eight boards, and Taylor Hall with 15 points and seven rebounds.  The Royals led 32-18 in points in the paint.

 

The Scots travel to Northfield Monday (Dec. 5) to take on St. Olaf.
