Millikin Men Edged by Aurora

          The Millikin men's basketball team fell victim to a late Aurora University rally falling 72-66 at the Griswold Center on Dec. 3.

          Millikin took the lead at the 17 minute mark in the first half and held the advantage until seven minutes left in the game including holding a 43-26 halftime lead.

          Millikin shot 60 percent in the first half including hitting on 3-4 from three point range.  Full court pressure in the second half by the Spartans held Millikin to only 30 percent shooting and forced the Big Blue into 13 second half turnovers.

          Millikin shot 45 percent on the game from the field while holding Aurora to 36.5 percent.  Millikin had a 42-33 advantage on the boards, but the Spartans still manage to take five more shots than the Big Blue.  Aurora was 20 of 28 from the free throw line while Millikin went 9-15.

          Nikko Robertson had 17 points and nine rebounds to lead the Big Blue.  Rodney Clark had 15 points and six rebounds.  Matt Merrigan was also in double figures with 14 points.

          Aurora got 15 points each from Scott Laskowski and Mike Bumber.  Laskowski had a team high 10 rebounds.

          Millikin will travel to Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind. on Tuesday, Dec. 6 for a 7:30 p.m. ET tipoff.
