Colby-Sawyer Men's Basketball Defeats Lyndon, 83-74 in First Ever NAC Contest

The Chargers even its record to 3-3 and go to 1-0 in the NAC. Lyndon falls to 0-6 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.

Senior Will Bardaglio (Wayne, Maine) led the Chargers with 21 points on 6-9 shooting. All of his makes came via the three-pointer. Senior James Tobin (Brookline, N.H.) chipped in 17 points on 7-9 shooting. Freshman Koang Thok (Portland, Maine) and junior Corey Willis (Easton, Mass.) were the other players to reach double-figures with 12 and 10, respectively.

Lyndon's Ben Sackett (Lyndonville, Vt.) led all players with 25 points. Freshman Asa Smith (Cheltenham, Md.) recorded 19 points, while junior Jason Gray (E. Thetford, Vt.) added 15 points and a game-high eight rebounds.

The Chargers, who led by as much as 24 in the first half, made 10-19 three point attempts. Bardaglio and Thok were the only two players to reach double-figures in the frame with 12 and 10, respectively. Colby-Sawyer also benefited from 15 Lyndon turnovers and turned them into 20 points. 

Trailing 50-34 entering the second, Lyndon showed signs of a comeback as they continued to chip away. With 4:30 left to play, the Hornets came within six points of the home team, but could not get any closer as Colby-Sawyer knocked down free throws to ice the game late.

The Chargers shot 48.4% from the floor, which included 14-30 from beyond the arc. Lyndon attempted 27 free throws, but only made 15 in the loss.

Colby-Sawyer plays its first road NAC contest on Saturday at Johnson State. Tip is scheduled for 1:00 pm. Lyndon will host the NAC's other new addition, New England College, on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
