CHESTER (PA) – Delaware Valley College went on a 19-4 run late in the second half as the Aggies rallied for an 86-73 victory over Penn State Mont Alto in the consolation game of the Widener University Tip-Off Classic.

Delaware Valley (1-2) trailed 39-34 at halftime, and was down by as many as seven in the second stanza. The Aggies came back and took a five-point lead, but a 3-pointer by Dan Smay and a layup by Xavier Montague evened things up at 60-60 with 7:44 remaining. Delaware Valley's Daulton Derr followed with a layup, but Smay answered with a 3-pointer for the Nittany Lions (2-2) to give them a 63-62 advantage with 6:48 remaining.

From there it was all Delaware Valley, starting with five straight points by Nathan Bollinger. Jonathan Jernigan added a pair of treys and Jeremy Beckett chipped in four points to lead the big spurt that put the Aggies up 16, 81-65 with 1:43 remaining.

Beckett and Bollinger, the lone starters back from last year's Freedom Conference championship team, combined for 53 points in the win. Beckett earned a spot on the all-tournament team as he notched 28 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks on Saturday. Bollinger hit four from downtown and finished with 25 points and three boards. Jay Donovan added 11 points and Jernigan came off the bench to notch eight points and five assists.

Penn State Mont Alto was led by Smay's 24 points, including a 5-for-7 showing from 3-point land. Jeremiah Mitchell added 12 points and eight rebounds.
