BC Men Get Road Win, 68-59, Over FDU-Florham To Start Season

Florham, NJ---The Brooklyn College Men's Basketball Team got outstanding performances from their senior backcourt of Tyshawn Russell and Amil John, as the duo combined for 56 of the team's 68 points, helping the bulldogs get by the host Devils, 68-59. With the win, Brooklyn moves to 1-0 on the early season while FDU-Florham falls to 0-1.

Russell had a game-high of 31 points as he was 12-18 from the field and 7-9 from the line. The guard also had six steals and three assists.

John scored 25 on 8-14 from the field and 8-14 at the charity stripe. He matched Russell with six steals and three assists and also grabbed a team-high six rebounds while playing all 40 minutes.

While the game was relatively close, Brooklyn never trailed and extended their advantage to double-digits on more than one occasion in the second half.

In defeat, FDU was lead by Will Green's 24 points and 12 boards, while his teammate Adam Katz scored his 1,000th career point on a three-pointer in the first half.

Brooklyn will head to the Manhattanville College Tip-Off Tournament in Purchase, New York this weekend where they will take on Hartwick on Friday at 6 pm. The Devils will be off for a week before heading to Stevens next Tuesday.
