ANNVILLE, Pa. - Anthony Trautman hit a three-pointer at the buzzer in overtime - finishing off a career-high 36-point performance - as Lebanon Valley tipped Alvernia, 64-62, in a match-up of the Commonwealth Conference's top two teams heading into the playoffs.

Playing in front of his home crowd on senior day, Trautman hit a game-tying runner late in regulation before scoring seven of LVC's eight points in OT to lead the Dutchmen to their 10th straight win.

On a remarkable afternoon in the Commonwealth Conference, Messiah beat Albright, Arcadia stunned Elizabethtown, and Widener outlasted Lycoming in double overtime to set an unlikely playoff field that will bring #3 seed Widener to #2 seed Lebanon Valley on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Top-seeded Alvernia will host #4 seed Messiah in the other semifinal.

Trautman tied the game twice in the final 1:30 of regulation, then swished the three off of Jordan Stewart's inbound with 1.1 seconds remaining in overtime. It capped an incredible second of the season for LVC (19-6, 10-4 CC), which has reeled off 10 straight wins since starting 1-4 in conference play. Trautman has averaged 27 points per game during the streak.

Joe Meehan contributed 12 points and six assists, while Danny Brooksadded 10 points. Cory Boone had a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double down low for Alvernia, and Stefan Thompson led the Crusaders (16-6, 11-3 CC) with 12 points.

The Dutchmen shot just 39.7%, their lowest since losing to Lycoming on Jan. 12, but did enough to keep the game close after Alvernia heated up in the second half to erase an early LVC lead.

LVC led by as much as 11 early in the second half, but the Crusaders caught fire from outside the arc to cut the lead to 42-39 after consecutive Christopher Davis three-pointers midway through the period. Another longball by William Harmon took the lead for the first time with 4:42 to play, and a Brian Nerney layup made it 53-50 Alvernia a minute later.

After a Meehan layup and a Nerney foul shot made it 54-52, Trautman tied the game at 54-54 with 1:30 to play, but Thompson put the Crusaders back up with a short jumper at the minute mark. Trautman made another runner with 41 ticks left, and after Thompson's game-winning bid was blocked by Brooks, Stewart came up short on a scrambling three-point try at the end of regulation.

In the extra frame, Alvernia took a quick 60-57 lead, but consecutive buckets by Trautman retook the lead at 61-60 with 2:36 remaining. A Nerney layup put Alvernia up a point, 62-61, with 26 seconds to go, and LVC had a chance at the last shot before Meehan was picked off by Tad Gillis. LVC fouled Boone, who missed his first of a one-and-one, and after Grant Becker's rebound, LVC called timeout with 1.1 seconds left.

That set up the inbounds play, with Stewart finding Trautman in front of his own bench for the game-winner at the buzzer.
