WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University snapped its eight-game men's basketball losing streak with a 61-57 USA South Conference overtime victory over Greensboro College Friday evening.

Shenandoah (4-19, 2-9) clinches sixth place in the league with the win over Greensboro (11-13, 4-7).

Regardless of what happens tomorrow in the regular season finale against Methodist, SU will travel to third-seeded Christopher Newport to play the Captains in a Tuesday quarterfinal round matchup.

That game will start at 7:30 p.m. or 25 minutes after the completion of the CNU women's contest, whichever is later.

Shenandoah snapped its eight-game losing streak by holding GC to just two field goals in the final 13:44 of playing time.

After Andre Porter gave the Pride a 53-40 lead with his jumper in the paint with 8:44 remaining, Greensboro got only a Brock Moorman jumper with 42 seconds left in regulation and a Chakiris Moss field goal at 3:36 of overtime.

The Hornets scored 15 of the final 17 points of regulation, finally tying it on a Brandon Bryan jumper in the lane with 22 seconds remaining.

SU then stole the ball in the GC frontcourt and had a chance to beat the buzzer, but Avery Green's running layup came up just short.

Moss gave the Pride the first bucket of the extra session, Mitch Dudley brought the Hornets to within one by hitting the second of two from the line before Bryan hit another jumper to give SU the lead for good.

Following another one of two performance from Dudley from the charity stripe, Bryan iced the victory by draining both of his free throws with two seconds remaining.

Senior Kevin Kline led all scorers with 22 points while Green added 14 and Dudley 10 with 11 boards.

Lewis Owenby had 10 points and 14 rebounds for Greensboro.

Shenandoah won the battle of the glass 46-41.

Tomorrow's game with Methodist is a 6 p.m. start.
