Senior forward Austin Meier scored 28 points and pulled down 14 rebounds as the Raiders held off Dominican 55-50 Tuesday night in River Forest, Ill. The victory ties the MSOE school record for wins in a season with 18 which was set in 2008-09. Meier also had five assists and two steals as the Raiders finish the regular season with a 12-4 NAC record. He now has 13 double-doubles on the year. Senior guard Bennett Deacon was the other MSOE player in double figures with 13 points.
Freshman guard John Cording scored a layup with 7:21 left in the game to put the Raiders up by one. MSOE would not trail again after that basket. Cording finished the contest with eight points.
The Raiders' (18-6, 12-4 NAC) next opponent is yet to be determined as Saturday will be the NAC Challenge day and the final standings will be determined Thursday. MSOE can finish no worse than second in the NAC South Division.
