CONWAY, Ark. (Feb. 12) -- Junior Ammon Martin led Hendrix College to a 75-63 win over Millsaps College on Saturday afternoon at Grove Gymnasium. Martin collected 20 points and drained four 3-pointers to lead the Warriors to a big conference win.

The Warriors settled down in the second half after a nip-and-tuck opening half that saw seven lead changes and four ties. Hendrix (9-14, 4-10 SCAC) owned just a 29-28 lead at the break and came out of the locker room with intensity.

Millsaps (10-13, 4-10 SCAC) tried to deter Hendrix from distance with a 1-3-1 zone to start the second half, however, the Warriors answered with four 3-pointers and quality possessions to outscore the Majors 29-13 in the first 10 minutes of the second half to go up 58-41.

The Warriors never looked back and eventually reached their largest lead of the game, 65-43, on a layup from first year Colton Primm with 5:48 remaining. Hendrix shot 53.3 percent from the field in the second half and went 5-of-13 from behind the arc in both halves.

Martin was 7-of-14 from the field 4-of-6 from long range. He also dished out five assists. Junior Nick Heathscott added 15 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. Primm, senior James Ewing and junior Chris Goodman added nine points apiece. Goodman also collected four assists. Sophomore Jaren Riley tallied seven points and a team-high six assists.

Millsaps was led by senior LV Sumler with 16 points and 13 rebounds for the double-double. Sophomore Nick Cortese added 13 points and sophomore Taylor Meades racked up 11 points.

Hendrix moves into a tie with Millsaps for the final SCAC Tournament seed out of the Western Division. The Warriors will need to win one more than Millsaps on the road next weekend to clinch a spot in this year's postseason classic. Millsaps owns the tie-breaker, so two wins by the Majors would put the Warriors out of the tournament.

Both teams travel to Colorado College and Austin College. Hendrix will play Colorado on Feb. 18 and then Austin on Feb. 20. Millsaps goes to Austin on Feb. 18 and then Colorado on Feb. 20.
