MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University men's basketball team could not miss from the free-throw line on Sunday as the Bison made 23-of-23 in an 85-77 road win over North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent Morrisville State College.

Gallaudet (12-7, 9-4 NEAC) went 22-for-22 in the second half after the Bison made their only free throw in the first half. The 23-for-23 performance in a game ranks second best among all Division III teams, according to the NCAA statistics dated from last week. Maranatha Baptist went 26-for-26 back on December 17, 2010, against Lincoln Christian. In fact, Gallaudet made its final three free-throw attempts in Saturday's win over Cazenovia College so the Bison will take a streak of 26 consecutive free throws made into their next game.

The Bison had four players reach double figures in the win led by junior forward Layton Seeber (Champaign, Ill.) who scored 23 points, grabbed six rebounds and passed out five assists. Seeber went 12-for-12 from the free-throw line in the second half. Sophomore forward Danny Kelly (Strongsville, Ohio) came off the bench to net 19 points and eight rebounds. Junior guard Brandon McMillan (Frederick, Md.) scored 13 of his 17 points in the first half and added four rebounds and three assists. Junior guard Tony Tatum (Gardendale, Ala.) tallied 14 points, six rebounds, five assists and two blocks.

Morrisville State (6-11, 5-7) matched Gallaudet with four players in double figures. Wayne Turner had a complete game as he scored 16 points, passed out six assists, grabbed five rebounds and made two steals. Kucjock Ater netted 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals while Bryan Eddy scored 13 points and nine rebounds. Kyle Gordon added 12 points and five rebounds.

There were seven ties and six lead changes in the contest. Gallaudet used a 9-0 run, which grew to 14-2, to pull away from the Mustangs in the second half. The Bison went from a 57-54 lead to 71-56 in a matter of four minutes.

Gallaudet will remain on the road for a Wednesday, February 2, non-conference game against Christendom College at 7 p.m.
