Hartford, Conn. –  Senior Brian Ford (Bronx, N.Y.) went for 20 points, four assists, and three rebounds on 3-6 long range shooting to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 72-40 win over the Colby College Mules in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's basketball action this evening on Stan Ogrodnik Court at Oosting Gymnasium.  Trinity breaks a three-game skid, improving to 11-9 overall and 2-3 in the NESCAC, while Colby drops to 9-10 overall and 1-4 in the league. 

Trinity never trailed in the game, jumping out to a quick 13-3 lead and building their advantage to 27-9 with 6:10 remaining in the first half.  Colby closed the first half on a 15-6 run to cut the Trinity lead to 33-24 at the midway point, but Trinity would respond with a run of their own in the second. 

Colby came within seven points of the Bantams with an immediate basket by senior co-captain Mike Russell (Wellesley, Mass.) to open the second half, making the score 33-26 in Trinity's favor, but Trinity got hot on both ends of the floor, capping the game with a 39-14 run and running away with the win. 

Freshman Eric Dean (Gilford, N.H.) scored 14 points and added three rebounds and three steals in his first collegiate start, while senior co-captain Jared Pimm (Chelmsford, Mass.) scored 12 points to go along with four assists, two rebounds, and one steal.  Dean and Pimm connected on two three-pointers apiece.  Trinity senior co-captain Luke MacDougall (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) had a well-rounded game, scoring 10 points and adding three rebounds, four steals, a block, and an assist. 

Trinity's defense limited Colby to just 34 percent shooting.  Russell was Colby's high-scorer with 11 points, six rebounds, two steals, and an assist.
